A rare George III Heraldic Wine Label made in Dublin in 1807 by John Teare.

The Label is broad rectangular in form with cut corners and a raised edge. The shield above displays scroll supporters and is engraved with a contemporary Crest. The label is engraved for CHAMPAIGNE, a mis-spelling which is always a desirable characteristic for collectors. Many engravers were illiterate and engraved the title as they heard it from their spoken instructions. The Crest, of a dexter hand erect out of a ducal coronet, with the third and fourth fingers turned down, is that of King-Tenison, Earl of Kingston. Very well marked and in excellent condition.
