A rare George III 'Fan' Vinaigrette made in London in 1819 by Thomas Eley.

This very rare Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form with rounded edges. The cover is beautifully engraved with an open fan, and the base with concentric oval patterns of prick dots. The sides are decorated with running leaves and the base of the fan, unusually, comprises a thumb piece to the lid, with smaller thumb piece to the base. The interior is finely gilded and the grille is pierced with three flower heads and leaves. An exceptional and very unusually decorated example.

Length: 1.25 inches, 3.13cm.
