A rare George III Dognose Spoon made in Edinburgh in 1768 by Patrick Robertson

The Spoon has a very pronounced Dognose end and is engraved with a contemporary initial, engraved in typical Scottish script lettering. The reverse of the bowl displays a raised rat tail and this piece is of a very thick gauge, with good tip to the bowl. The spoon is in excellent condition and has a very good colour. Scottish Dognose Spoons, from any period, are extremely rare as the style was not produced in great quantity North of the border.

Length: 8 inches, 20cm.
