A rare early George III Irish Milk Jug made in Dublin circa 1767 by William Towsend.

The Jug is of typical Irish design and stands on three paw and shell feet which are attached to the main body with lion mask mouldings. This example has an applied reeded girdle around the centre of the main body and a pronounced pouring spout. The Jug has a leaf capped scroll handle. The base is engraved with a set of contemporary initials and this piece has a very good colour.
