A rare 18th century Vinaigrette made in London in 1798 by Phipps & Robinson.
174765
The Vinaigrette is of oval form and the cover is engraved with a band of bead work and a central vacant circular cartouche. The base displays the same outer beaded band and the sides are decorated with a prick dot band. The interior is finely gilded and well marked and displays a plainly pierced grille, as many of the 18th century boxes tended to have. Vinaigrettes which just fall into the 18th century are particularly scarce.
