A pair of George II Cast Candlesticks made in London in 1747 by Simon Jouet.

The Candlesticks are cast and stand on a shaped foot decorated with a raying shell in each corner. The baluster shaped stems are also decorated with reeding and shells, as are the pull-off nozzles. The Candlesticks are in quite excellent condition and are fully marked in the foot. Simon Jouet was a fine quality maker, specialising in Candlesticks, who was of Huguenot descent. The candlesticks are in excellent condition.
