A George III Sweetmeat Basket made in London in 1783 by Hester Bateman


The Basket stands on an oval beaded foot pierced with semi-circular motifs and engraved with prick dot designs. The navette shaped main body displays a beaded rim and arched handle and is pierced with vertical pails and stylised flower heads. The main body is also engraved with various prick dot bands.
