A George II Pepper Caster made in London in 1749 by Samuel Wood.


The Caster stands on a spreading foot decorated with reeding. The vase shaped main body is plain in design and the pull off cover is pierced and engraved with alternate panels of roundels and scroll work. The cover also terminates in a bell finial. The caster is in excellent condition and is fully marked in the foot and with the makers mark and sterling mark on the cover.
