A George II cast Sweetmeat Basket made in London in 1758 by Samuel Herbert.

The Basket stands on four cast feet and the circular main body is pierced with scroll work, crosses and roundells. The applied rim displays scroll work and flower heads. The swing handle is decorated with flower heads and a vacant cartouche and the bowl of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest.
