A fine George III Tortoiseshell pique Scent Etui made, most probably in London, circa 1780.

The Etui is broad rectangular in form, with a hinged cover. The main body is decorated, on both sides, with unusual blue bell swags and garlands, tied with ribbons, as well as a navette shaped vacant silver cartouche. The interior is divided into two sections, each containing a glass scent bottle and stopper. This example is in excellent condition.
