A fine George III Tankard made in London in 1777 by Thomas Wallis II.

The Tankard stands on a stepped circular foot decorated with reeding. The baluster shaped body has an everted rim and applied girdle around the lower section. The stepped domed cover is also decorated with reeded bands and the scroll handle terminates in a heart shaped end and is attached to the cover with a cast chair back thumb piece. The handle is also decorated with a shaped double drop. The Tankard is of a very good weight and gauge and is fully marked in the foot and on the cover.
