A fine George III Patch Box made in Birmingham in 1801 by Joseph Taylor.

The Patch Box is of an unusually large oval form, with a pull off cover. The cover is decorated with an outer prick dot and arrow head border, around a set of contemporary script initials. The base is engraved with prick dot bands. The box has a finely gilded interior and is very well marked.
