A fine George III Butter Shell made in London in 1791, probably by Henry Chawner.

The Butter Shell stands on two winkle feet and the main body is fluted to simulate a scallop shell. The carrying handle has an applied beaded rim. This piece is in excellent condition and is of a very good weight.
