A fine George II Sauceboat made in Edinburgh in 1756 by Lothian & Robinson, Assay Master Hugh Gordon.

The Sauceboat stands on a domed cast oval foot decorated with reeding. The elongated main body is baluster in form, with a shaped rim. This example has a flying scroll leaf capped handle. The Sauceboat is in excellent condition and is fully marked in the foot.
