A fine early George III cast Taperstick made in London in 1769 by William Grundy.

The Taperstick stands on a stepped square base decorated with gadrooning and a band of swirl fluting where it meets the main shaft. The baluster shaped stem is decorated with gadrooning and corded bands. This is an unusual design of Taperstick and this piece is fully marked in the foot.
