A fine Charles II Porringer made in London in 1681 by Francis Singleton.


The Porringer is of typical form for this date and is decorated, on the lower section of the main body, with acanthus and palm leaf motifs. The upper section displays a band of stylised arrow head motifs and two cast scroll and bead handles with rare caryatid mask tops. The Porringer is engraved on the front with a set of contemporary prick dot initials and is fully marked on the base. The Porringer also comes with its Spink & Son receipt, from 1968, when it was last sold.
